I section off rooms for our iRobot Roomba 800 series to clean. This insures that each room is initially completely, and deeply cleaned by my Roomba 870 while the battery is still charged. I prep the rooms just in case, to help save battery life and so my Roomba can focus on cleaning, not dodging obstacles. It fits under our beds and, surprisingly, under the cedar chest! I'm not convinced yet that our Roomba gets the corners cleaned thoroughly, but once I get all the rooms cleaned for the first time by Roomba, I'll be better able to tell (basically because I actually couldn't resist going through and vacuuming corners when I first got it). I've found our robot to be tenacious in that it goes back over spots where it senses dirt, and to basically get a good clean. Some of our rooms and hallway have mid-pile carpet, which is over 10yrs old, so it takes a few runs and emptying of the dust bin. Now that I'll have a regular schedule for the rooms, the dust bin will fill less often, and Roomba is able to do more spot cleaning. I was amazed at how much dirt is trapped in the carpeting and/or missed when I sweep, yet Roomba was able to pick it up. The only downfall, and these aren't major issues for me, are that the power cord isn't very long. There are really only two cons/issues, that prevent me from giving this five stars. One, is the cord only has so much length, but the charger has to be flush against the wall. An extension cord can be used, but I prefer to keep that up off the floow so as not to hinder the Roomba. The cord also is pretty stiff, so that when it gets in the way near the floor, if I try to move it, the cord pulls the charger away from the wall. And second, this particular model doesn't have depth perception, in that if a person is walking in front of Roomba, especially if the robot turns into my path, it doesn't stop until it gently bumps an object. This doesn't take away from the fact that I love the "bumpers" that Roomba has, so that contact with objects is gently for the most part. However, if a future model can sense/see a person, or have a motion detector, that would be awesome!!! #Roombalove #GotAdiscount
